In Bolesławiec, the monthly fee charged to property owners for municipal waste management has been set at PLN 15.00 per person when waste is not collected and picked up selectively. The monthly fee when waste is collected and picked up selectively has been set at PLN 11.00 per person residing at the property.

When choosing the method, efforts were made to adapt the new system to the “polluter pays” principle. The lower fee for the selective collection and pickup of waste is intended to provide a significant incentive for selective waste segregation.

The weekly Nowiny Jeleniogórskie compared waste collection fees in municipalities where the fee is to be charged per person. According to the ranking published in Nowiny..., Bolesławiec is among the municipalities with the lowest waste collection fees – both when waste is not collected and picked up selectively and when it is.

In the ranking of municipalities where the fee is to be charged per person, Bolesławiec came fourth from the bottom, “beating” only Świeradów, Bogatynia and Gromadka. There were 28 localities from the Jelenia Góra subregion ahead of Bolesławiec. Jelenia Góra had the highest fees for unsorted and sorted waste (PLN 28/PLN 18), followed by:
