The Spelling Competition “Spelling Champion” is behind us. It was organized by the Janusz Korczak II General Secondary School in Bolesławiec. – The main aim of the competition is to promote the culture of the native language – says Barbara Ostaszewska, a Polish language teacher at II LO. – In the age of the Internet, some people consider caring about spelling and punctuation pointless, but I believe that using written or spoken Polish correctly is the hallmark of an intelligent person.
The competition, addressed to middle-school students, was attended by 16 pupils. The winner was Paulina Owerko from Gimnazjum Samorządowe No. 4 in Bolesławiec. Second place went to Jagoda Łętowska from GS No. 2. The third prize went to Kornelia Fabiańska from GS No. 1. The next edition of the Spelling Competition will be held in a year.
