In mid-June, secret elections were held within the Alliance’s county structures. Two Alliance members competed to become the parliamentary candidate: Dariusz Sas and Lesław Śliwko. The choice of the former was decided by a seven-vote margin.

It is already known that the candidate is supported by left-wing circles in Bolesławiec, including the Young Social Democrats, the Association of Pensioners and Retirees, and the Allotment Holders’ Association. It is also known that the election campaign will be led by Stanisław Szypulski, secretary of the SLD county council. It is not yet certain which position the candidate will occupy on the electoral list. If the National Council approves the proposed order of names, Dariusz Sas will run from fourth place on the list.

Dariusz Sas is 29 years old and has two children. He graduated from the Academy of Economics in Wrocław. He is deputy chair of the SLD City Council. He works at the county office of the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture, where he serves as director. As a member of parliament, he wants to focus primarily on combating unemployment and attracting investors and European Union funds to our region.

Dariusz Sas withdrew his candidacy for the Sejm at the beginning of August.
