The Month of National Remembrance and Patriotism has ended at the Janusz Korczak II General Secondary School in Bolesławiec. “We decided that patriotic ideas and national symbols would be promoted among first- and second-year students,” Barbara Sykulska, a history teacher at II LO, told us in November this year.
The school’s students formed a team (comprising: Krystian Fecyk, Kacper Jędrzejewski, Jakub Feret, Łukasz Kowalski, Mateusz Kopeć, Magdalena Brzana, Denis Gonciarz and Dominik Karpiński), which organized the Month of National Remembrance and Patriotism celebrations. The project coordinator was Martyna Mularczyk from the Student Council.
The school’s students also had the opportunity to attend lectures devoted to national symbols. On November 13, an assembly was held on the occasion of Independence Day, along with the opening of a patriotic exhibition. That day, team members dressed in military uniforms stood guard of honor by the flag and the exhibition.
The project culminated in a history competition on national symbols, addressed to first- and second-year students. “It was dedicated to promoting the idea of being Polish and patriotic,” Barbara Sykulska emphasizes. First place in the competition was awarded ex aequo to: Anna Ancygier, Patryk Molski and Denis Rudzik.
