On Wednesday (5 September), BKS played an away match against Jawa Otok. The match began promisingly for the team from Bolesławiec. In the 14th minute, Wojciech Glanc beat Dawid Kizyma from 30 metres, making it 1–0 for BKS. Shortly afterwards, Zbigniew Mastalerz found himself one-on-one with Otok’s goalkeeper, but his shot was too weak to surprise the Jawa goalkeeper. In the 18th minute, Wojciech Glanc struck at the home team’s goal again, but the ball hit the post. The same player narrowly missed with another free kick. In the 21st minute, following a foul by a Jawa player, Damian Kamuda had to leave the field (a shoulder injury and a visit to hospital). Eryk Kliwak replaced him. BKS had the advantage and more chances, but Paweł Żmudziński’s players were very wasteful that day. Jawa’s players also had their opportunities. The best one was wasted by Radosław Wróbel, who failed to score with only the BKS goalkeeper in front of him.
In the 47th minute, Jawa goalkeeper Dawid Kizyma was shown a yellow card for fouling Marcin Jankowski, and the referee awarded a penalty. The fouled player himself stepped up to take it. However, the BKS striker’s shot was too weak, and the Jawa goalkeeper came out on top. A few minutes later, Zbigniew Mastalerz (BKS) missed another scoring chance. The player narrowly missed the target. BKS learned in the 50th minute that missed chances can come back to haunt you. After a foul by a BKS player, the home team scored from a free kick to make it 1–1. Piotr Rodak was the scorer. The team from Bolesławiec pushed forward to make up the deficit, but the home side launched a counterattack and won a penalty, which Maciej Zielonka converted (58th minute). From that moment, BKS’s play became very nervous. Despite their advantage, the visitors were unable to finish their attacks effectively. Jawa defended with the entire team and scored a third goal in the 80th minute. The goal came after an uncertain intervention by goalkeeper Manuel Kowalski, who got into a dribbling duel with a home player and played the ball poorly towards a defender. Radosław Wróblewski set the final score at 3–1 for Jawa. BKS lost its first match of the season. Jawa took advantage of playing at home and of the capricious weather (falling rain). Nevertheless, the team deserves congratulations for the victory. On Saturday (8 September), the team from Bolesławiec will face Twardy Świętoszów at home.
