On Sunday, 12 August, BKS Bobrzanie played its first-round match in the Polish Regional Cup. The players from Spółdzielcza faced Kolonia Bolesławiec. The match ended in a resounding 8:1 (3:0) victory for BKS. It could hardly have been otherwise. Kolonia are a team playing two divisions lower. BKS have experienced league players in their squad. However, it must be acknowledged that BKS’s opponents fought ambitiously and scored a consolation goal.
In Sunday’s match, the scoring was opened in the 13th minute by Zbigniew Mastalerz, following a one-two with Mateusz Mucha. It was already 2:0 in the 20th minute. Piotr Bryłkowski delivered the ball from the right side of the pitch, and Marcin Jankowski headed it into the net. In the 42nd minute, the same player produced an individual effort. He went past several opponents and extended the lead to 3:0. Until the end of the first half, Kolonia did not manage a single shot on the BKS goal.
In the 46th minute, following an attack down the left and a cross from Krzysztof Janicki, Marcin Jankowski scored his third goal of the match. Four minutes later, BKS defender Michał Błoński failed to control the ball in the penalty area. Kolonia’s players immediately took advantage of the mistake. Sławomir Pełdiak scored Kolonia’s goal. In the 58th minute, Zbigniew Mastalerz extended BKS’s lead to 5:1. In the 70th minute, Radosław Powroźnik made it 6:1. It is worth noting that Marcin Jankowski provided the assist in both scoring moves. The match’s finest goal came in the 75th minute. Michał Błoński unleashed a shot at the Kolonia goal from 40 metres. The ball clipped the crossbar and went into the net. Five minutes later, Damian Kamuda set the final score. BKS – Kolonia Bolesławiec 8:1 (3:0).
The regional league season begins on Wednesday, 15 August. Paweł Żmudziński’s players will face Piast Wykroty away. Kick-off is at 17:00.
