This year's Open-Air Workshops will begin with an exhibition of ceramics by Magdalena Gazur and Alicja Patanowska from the Less Design design collective. The opening will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 9, at the BOK-MCC Gallery.

The next exhibition will take place on August 23 at 6:00 p.m. It will present works created after the 35th International Ceramic Symposium “Porcelain Differently.” On that day, Monika Patuszyńska will also give a lecture on the Symposium.

Two evenings will be devoted to presentations of the artists participating in the International Ceramic and Sculpture Open-Air Workshops and their work. The meetings will take place in the BOK-MCC conference room on August 14 and August 21, always at 7:00 p.m.

On the final day of the Ceramics Festival, August 26, the artists will prepare an art happening. It will take place on the escarpment in the Market Square at 12: 00 p.m.

The following artists will take part in this year's open-air workshop: Janina Bany-Kozłowska – a designer at the “Bolesławiec” Ceramic Works. She is the author of a new vision for developing patterns in Bolesławiec ceramics and a guardian of tradition. Thanks to her, ceramic products retain their original, unique character.

Doris Becker – an artist living and working in Luxembourg. A graduate of the Académie des Beaux Arts in Arlon, Belgium. In her artistic work, Boris Becker draws inspiration from observations of nature, above all from the structures of the earth.

Michał Gdak – a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at Wrocław University of Technology and the Faculty of Sculpture at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław; he also studied at the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia and Delft University of Technology. A multidisciplinary artist whose work combines many themes at the intersection of sculpture, design, architecture and sociology.

Houda Ghorbel – an artist from Tunisia and a doctoral student at the Institute superior des Beaux-Arts in Tunis. She creates sensitive ceramic installations using both figurative motifs and recycling in design.

Katarzyna Miściur – a graduate of the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław. A young, ambitious and hardworking artist who has developed an individual artistic language in ceramics. Participating in the Bolesławiec open-air workshop is a major opportunity for her to engage with more experienced artists and an important first step toward creative independence.

Janina Myronowa – a graduate of the Faculty of Ceramics at the Lviv National Academy of Fine Arts who, while on a short scholarship in Wrocław, fell in love with Poland and decided to return here to, in a sense, repeat her education at the Wrocław Academy of Fine Arts. She paints, creates unique ceramics and designs, maintaining a highly individual, coherent and recognizable style in all these areas of artistic activity, combining ethnographic elements with contemporary aesthetics.

Joanna Opalska-Brzecka (workshop curator) – a graduate of the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław and an assistant in the Unique Ceramics Studio. For her, ceramics is both an excellent sculptural material and a medium in which she works as a designer. She is interested in playing with stereotypes, associations and habits.

Eva Pelechova – a graduate of the Academy of Arts Architecture and Design in Prague. A representative of a young generation of artists seeking answers to various questions through the art of material. A conceptual artist who values craftsmanship and is sensitive to the beauty of ceramics.

Elina Titane – a graduate of the Latvian Academy of Art in Riga. The creator of organic clay sculptures that captivate with their intricacy, quality of execution and nature-inspired detail.

Bronisław Wolanin – artistic director and chief designer of the “Artistic Ceramics” Handicraft Cooperative. One of the creators of the contemporary style in Bolesławiec stoneware, who for many years has introduced new shapes, glazes and decorations into production.

Istvan Zakar – a graduate of Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest. A participant in exhibitions and symposiums. Owner of a ceramics studio in Budapest, where he creates unique ceramics and architectural elements.
