The Municipal Social Welfare Centre in Bolesławiec is carrying out for the fifth time the systemic project entitled “By Acting, You Seize the Opportunity”, co-financed by the European Union under the European Social Fund – Priority VII: Promotion of social integration; Measure 7.1: Development and dissemination of active integration; Sub-measure 7.1.1: Development and dissemination of active integration by social welfare centres.
The main objective of the project is to ensure equal access to employment for people at risk of social exclusion, and to improve their professional and social status by preparing them to enter and integrate into the labour market.
The target group consists of 30 unemployed people (20 women and 10 men) from the city of Bolesławiec, of working age and receiving social welfare benefits. Project participants will be able to actively seek employment on the local labour market with greater determination and commitment, as well as confidence in their own abilities.
The consequences of unemployment and the lack of opportunities to improve one’s professional situation include social isolation, lower self-esteem, depressive tendencies and problems with self-discipline.
People from the participants’ surroundings will also be included in the remedial process, primarily those living in the same household and/or environment as the project participants. The activities carried out under the project are fully consistent with the objectives of the Human Capital Operational Programme, and people who complete their participation in the project in accordance with the planned participation pathway will have a greater chance of finding employment thanks to improved self-esteem and professional qualifications (Priority VII under the Human Capital Operational Programme). The added value of the project will be enabling people receiving social welfare to acquire new skills, which would not be possible without ESF support.
On 29 June, the Municipal Social Welfare Centre in Bolesławiec will organise a conference promoting the project, addressed to its participants.
