The fact that the festival was called “Na ludową nutę” could be seen immediately after entering the school grounds. Stalls with traditional local food, elements associated with rural life, and farm animals all pointed to the folk character of the event.

Folk groups performed during the festival. Numerous competitions for children were also held. The small zoo of domestic animals proved very popular. The children greeted the little goat, rabbit, rooster and hens with undisguised joy. Quite a large number of pupils also took advantage of horseback rides.

The school grounds hosted displays of flowers and antiques, a ceramics fair, a raffle, presentations of folk costumes and dolls from around the world. A café and a candy-floss stand awaited everyone with a sweet tooth.

A family festival is not only about having fun, but also about education and integration. “The children prepared various things in advance, including paper cut-outs and pictures, which they later sold at the festival. The same was true of the cakes baked by the parents. We organize events of this kind to bring the pupils, school and parents together,” explains Kornel Filipowicz, the school’s principal.
