One of the volunteers, Janina Majewska, filed a report in January alleging a suspected crime during the WOŚP Finale in Bolesławiec. She informed the prosecutor’s office that the head of the campaign had misappropriated money raised in the fundraiser and items intended for auction. The prosecutor’s office dismissed the case.

“The proceedings were dismissed due to a lack of sufficient information substantiating the suspicion that an offense had been committed. Irregularities were found; not everything was conducted in accordance with the regulations, but based on the evidence, it cannot be established that the money was misappropriated,” says Regina Haniszewska, head of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec.

The volunteer is outraged by the prosecutor’s office’s decision. “I will appeal,” says Janina Majewska. “It’s shocking. This is unacceptable. I read the four pages of nonsense written by the head of the campaign in the case files. He should apologize to the residents and finally say how much money he raised. I will not let this matter go,” the outraged volunteer added.

Prosecutor Regina Haniszewska explains that Janina Majewska cannot appeal because she is not a party to the proceedings. The WOŚP foundation may do so.
