The match was not a thrilling spectacle. The players from Jawor showed greater motivation to play, owing to their position in the league table. Kuźnia Jawor occupy second-to-last place and are still fighting to remain in the fourth division. BKS began the match calmly. In the 10th minute, Tomasz Jasiński had an opportunity to score. However, his shot sailed over the visitors’ crossbar. Józef Pietrzak, Andrzej Węgłowski and Marcin Ciliński failed to take advantage of further chances. The latter hit Kuźnia’s right post towards the end of the first half. The visitors had the territorial advantage in the first half, but their attacks were very chaotic. Their shots were off target, while most of their attacks ended at the Bolesławiec defence.
In the second half, BKS increased the pace somewhat. Radosław Pietkiewicz, brought on as a substitute, frequently created danger in front of Kuźnia’s goal. In the 49th minute, one of the attacks involving Pietkiewicz could have given Bolesławiec the lead. However, at the last moment, a visiting defender managed to clear the ball, which was heading towards the edge of the six-yard box, straight into the path of Paweł Fulczyński.
As the second half progressed, the players’ increasing fatigue became evident. In addition, the referee made controversial decisions during the match. He failed to award several incidents in which our players were brought down. One of them occurred in the 75th minute, when Tomasz Jasiński was probably fouled in Kuźnia’s penalty area. The closing stages of the match could have brought a result in the visitors’ favour. In the 80th minute, the crossbar saved us from conceding. Three minutes later, Marek Przykłota saved two dangerous shots from the visitors. BKS Bolesławiec ultimately drew 0:0 with Kuźnia Jawor.
