Children from the branch of Municipal Public Kindergarten No. 3 joined other kindergartens in Bolesławiec and throughout Poland in celebrating the First Optimism Day. The aim of the celebrations was to develop an optimistic outlook on the world in children, to enjoy playing together with children, parents and teachers, and to support the youngsters’ overall intellectual development.

The “Optimistic Kindergarten” programme focuses on recognising every child’s success and strengthening their sense of achievement (each child has their own career passport). Children learn kindness, politeness and resourcefulness (five-year-olds take part in the Little Manager educational project). The staff of optimistic kindergartens are optimistic too and focus on their continuous development. Teachers in optimistic kindergartens assess children’s intelligence, and the kindergarten is arranged in a way that supports children’s varied interests. Such kindergartens also use specially prepared assessment sheets for children’s skills.

The First Optimism Day for the children from the branch of kindergarten no. 3 was an exceptionally joyful day. The celebration began with the singing of an optimistic anthem, a recitation of the poem “Optimism Day” and the passing on of the “spark of friendship”.

Next, the children listened to the fairy tale “Rainbow Dream”, read by Urszula Popek, a mother invited to the celebration.Urszula Popek. After the reading, they set out to look for the stone of optimism in the kindergarten garden. It was a game in which the children followed the direction of the arrows and completed tasks placed in hidden envelopes.

A map, which they also had to find, helped the children locate the optimistic stone. The most resourceful child turned out to be Lena Matyjewicz from the middle group, who was the first to find the rainbow-coloured stone.Lena Matyjewicz At the place where the unusual stone was found, the children planted a young tree, then ceremonially carried the stone into the kindergarten and placed it in the hall.

The next part of the celebration took place after the second breakfast. The children from the middle and oldest groups first packed biscuits specially prepared for the occasion into little bags. They placed them in a large basket and then took part in an optimistic parade.

The joyful children, equipped with banners, colourful headbands and other accessories, set off through the streets of the estate, giving passers-by their smiles, optimistic wishes and, of course, delicious biscuits.

The children also visited their partner schools: Primary School No. 5, Municipal Lower Secondary School No. 4 and the 2nd Secondary School on Dolne Młyny Street, where they received an exceptionally warm welcome from the older students and teachers.

At the end of the celebration, the children drew optimistic pictures in the kindergarten garden with coloured chalk: suns, colourful rainbows and flowers. They also released seven rainbow-coloured balloons into the sky. It was an exceptionally pleasant day for the children, and their optimism, joy and cheerful spirit spread to everyone they met that day.

The Istotne.pl editorial team congratulates the kindergartens on maintaining such a high and optimistic standard of education.
