The L. Waryński Mechanical School Complex in Bolesławiec has begun cooperation with Wrocław University of Science and Technology! The agreement was signed on Friday, April 20, at the Old Theatre. It was preceded by a press conference attended by Dr. Eng. Marek Gawliński, deputy dean for science and international cooperation of PWr’s Faculty of Mechanical and Energy Engineering, director of the “mechanic” Adam Maksymczyk, county governor Cezary Przybylski, head of the Bolesławiec County Council Karol Stasik and member of the County Board Dariusz Kwaśniewski.

“This agreement crowns our discussions with ZSM,” said Gawliński. “We believe it is the best agreement Wrocław University of Science and Technology has concluded with a school. We will be delighted to host students from the Mechanical School Complex, while our students will come to Bolesławiec for exercises at research and teaching stations. The changes that have taken place at this Bolesławiec institution are impressive. They will enable young people to gain broad knowledge of subjects such as mechatronics and transport. I wish ZSM success in becoming a leading institution in the region.”

“I am proud that my school will cooperate with Wrocław University of Science and Technology,” Adam Maksymczyk stressed. “This cooperation will bring nothing but benefits—to our students and to the entire province.”

“This is an excellent deal for both sides,” stated Cezary Przybylski. “Several years ago, I told high-school students that they should consider becoming engineers. At the time, this prompted murmurs of discontent,” Karol Stasik recalled. “Law and economics degrees were fashionable then. Today, many people with such degrees cannot find work. Meanwhile, being an engineer currently means having a job. I am a strong advocate of technical education and am very pleased that Bolesławiec will have not only economists, but also engineers.”

As Dariusz Kwaśniewski noted, the Bolesławiec County Office has consistently promoted vocational education since 2002. “We have excellent results,” he said. “And they did not come from nowhere. They are thanks to an excellent teaching staff and the consistency of the county authorities. If Wrocław University of Science and Technology wants to cooperate with us, I am pleased, because more people will study at PWr. The Mechanical School Complex is one of our best schools; this cooperation is no coincidence.”

The agreement was signed by Adam Maksymczyk and Marek Gawliński.
