The Janusz Korczak Secondary School No. II in Bolesławiec announced the results of the history competition “Repatriation in the Memories of My Relatives and Friends.” The entries were assessed by a jury consisting of: Barbara Sykulska, a history teacher, and Barbara Ostaszewska, a Polish language teacher. “We wanted to inspire young people to learn about their roots,” says Sykulska.

The first prize went to Natalia Horodyska. Aleksandra Siembida took second place (both are from class I b). Martyna Mularczyk from class II b received an honourable mention.

The awards ceremony took place on Wednesday, 4 April. The event featured a lecture by Łukasz Sołtysik, an employee of the Wrocław branch of the Institute of National Remembrance, entitled “Resettlements – Repatriation. National and Ethnic Minorities in Lower Silesia in 1945–1950.” The IPN researcher prepared it especially for the occasion.
