Young volleyball players from II Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Janusza Korczaka in Bolesławiec won a bronze medal at the Lower Silesian championships. Thanks to their incredible determination, the girls reached the provincial final for the third consecutive time. In the semifinal match, however, after a hard-fought battle, they lost to players from Wrocław in five sets.

The Bolesławiec team played in the following lineup: Dominika Mienculewicz, Zofia Lenkiewicz, Katarzyna Melko, Dorota Burdyna, Ania Lenkiewicz, Ewa Serkies, Paulina Fuchs, Dorota Stadnik, Aleksandra Izowit, Justyna Wilk, Paulina Kiełb and Angelika Drozda. The team’s coach is Piotr Napiórkowski. Moreover, Dorota Burdyna was named one of the tournament’s best players.

Meanwhile, at the end of February, Anna Łaniocha, Magdalena Blatkiewicz, Klaudia Oślak, Agata Reguła, Aleksandra Siembida and Jędrzej Janczewski received letters of congratulations at Wrocław’s Centennial Hall. All six are scholarship recipients of the “Lower Silesian Scholarship Program – Equalizing Educational Opportunities for Gifted Students,” implemented by the marshal’s office.

The letters of congratulations were presented to talented students from lower-secondary and upper-secondary schools by the province’s deputy marshal Radosław Mołoń, Lower Silesian superintendent of education Beata Pawłowicz and Dominik Kozłowski, deputy head of the UMWD Department of Social Affairs.
