At the beginning of June, the capital of the Czech Republic will host the opening of a post-symposium exhibition from the 40th International Ceramic and Sculpture Symposium. The exhibition is, of course, the main occasion for Bolesławiec to make its presence known in Prague, but it will also serve as a pretext for several accompanying events and for promoting the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival, held on the penultimate weekend of August.

The post-symposium sculptures will be accompanied by a photographic exhibition by Bolesławiec resident Grzegorz Matoryn. A concert by the blues band “Obstawa Prezydenta” and a mime performance by Bogdan Nowak are scheduled for June 7. For many years, the mime performed on stages around the world alongside the renowned French mime Marcel Marceau. The exhibition programme will also include the firing of a ceramic kiln. The material for its construction will, of course, be brought from Bolesławiec.

The exhibition will be accompanied by artistic happenings and other interactive activities, such as throwing pottery on a wheel, shaping clay and hand-painting bisque ware, in which Prague residents and tourists can take part.

The “Made in Bolesławiec” exhibition will run from June 7 to 30.
