One of the items on the agenda of Wednesday’s City Council session was a vote on a draft resolution approving the sale of the Municipality of Bolesławiec’s shares in the Local Television Station “Azart-Sat”. Mirosław Sakowski, head of the Civic Platform councillors’ club, spoke . “It is very good that the mayor has finally decided to sell these shares,” he stressed. “It’s a shame it happened so late. Civic Platform councillors submitted such a motion during the previous term. But better late than never,” he added. “The sale is one thing, and the company’s operation is another. Recently, it was impossible for the municipality to sell its shares—for obvious reasons. Now the company’s financial situation has stabilised,” retorted Jarosław Kowalski, chairman of the Forum club.
Councillor Wojciech Kasprzyk joined the discussion. “This is a very good resolution. Azart-Sat will no longer be perceived as a monopoly of the city office, and it will be possible to say that it is a professional and independent television station. I think this is a very sound decision by the mayor,” he said. “To me, this television station has always been very objective,” concluded Janina Piestrak-Babijczuk, deputy chair of the City Council.
The City Council unanimously adopted a resolution approving the sale of the Municipality of Bolesławiec’s shares in the Local Television Station “Azart-Sat”. Their nominal value is PLN 57,000.
