The event will take the form of a team-based sporting competition. Participants—amateur four-person teams made up of adult competitors—will assemble 1,500-piece jigsaw puzzles. In addition to championship titles and trophies, material prizes await the winners.
The aim of the competition, which will take place on February 25, 2012, at 4:00 p.m. in the GOKiS hall in Kruszyn (1B Kasztanowa Street), is to promote jigsaw puzzling as an attractive way to spend free time and to develop skills such as patience, perceptiveness and the ability to work as a team. Teams representing institutions, companies and private individuals may register.
GOKiS asks all teams interested in taking part in the marathon to register as soon as possible, as the number of places is limited. You can register:
- by phone or fax: 75 732 14 77
- by email: gokisbeata@wp.pl
- or in person: at the GOKiS office in Kruszyn, at 1B Kasztanowa Street, on all working days from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Acceptance of an entry is confirmed by written confirmation from the organizer and the assignment of a team number. The entry should include the team name, the first and last names of its members, their years of birth and towns of residence, as well as a contact telephone number.
MAUPa will attempt to break a record
This year, the organizers have decided to try to break a Guinness World Record. The team that is the first to finish assembling the puzzle will be entered in the Book of Records by Gminny Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji in Bolesławiec, with its registered office in Kruszyn.
The event’s media patron will be the “Istotne Informacje” website and newspaper.
