Grzegorz Schetyna won the most votes in Platforma Obywatelska. The next places went to: Ewa Drozd, Zofia Czernow, Robert Kropiwnicki, Norbert Wojnarowski, Roman Brodniak and Iwona Krawczyk. Dariusz Kwaśniewski came eighth.
In Bolesławiec County, Grzegorz Schetyna 5746 people voted, for Dariusz Kwaśniewski 4078.
– First and foremost, I am pleased with the result achieved by Platforma. It was the first time that the governing party won. I worked hard, visited many cities and spoke with hundreds of people. I regret that I did not win a seat, because my friends and I worked to secure a seat for Bolesławiec. The campaign was conducted with precisely this goal in mind: to convince residents that a deputy from Bolesławiec would help our city and county. We fell a few votes short and it did not work out, but this idea remains relevant. We must believe that Bolesławiec should have its own deputy. I would like to sincerely thank everyone who believed and voted. I will work even harder for them as a local-government official – he said Dariusz Kwaśniewski.
The senator in our district was Jan Michalski, won 33,641 votes. In second place was Jerzy Zieliński, received 20,474 votes. The next places were taken by: Roman Kulczycki (19,965) and Piotr Hetel (10,149).
“We must congratulate Civic Platform, because no one has managed this before. Unfortunately, the upper house of parliament will not serve any purpose. We will have only two caucuses, and that is terrifying. A Senate that mirrors the Sejm is completely unnecessary,” he said Jerzy Zieliński.
