The District Court in Bolesławiec ordered the temporary detention of a 44-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County. The man is suspected of using violence against his father, making threats against him and causing bodily injuries.
The detention followed a request from the District Prosecutor in Bolesławiec. The court decided that the suspect would spend the next three months in custody.
According to investigators’ findings, the 44-year-old allegedly physically and psychologically abused his father from August 2024 to 21 August 2026. The men lived together.
The suspect did not work and was supported by his parents. He abused alcohol and, when under its influence, started arguments.
During these incidents, the 44-year-old allegedly used words commonly regarded as insulting toward his father and also threatened to kill him.
One of the arguments ended particularly brutally
Another incident allegedly occurred on 21 August 2026. The man, under the influence of alcohol, allegedly started an argument at home, during which he insulted his father and punched him on the head and all over his body.
The victim suffered injuries, including bruising around the face and eye sockets and skin abrasions on his forearm.
The 44-year-old was detained by officers of the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters.
After being brought to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec, the man was charged with abusing his father, causing bodily injuries and making criminal threats against him. The prosecutor classified the alleged acts, among other provisions, under Article 207 § 1 of the Criminal Code, Article 157 § 2 of the Criminal Code and Article 190 § 1 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 11 § 2 of the Criminal Code.
The suspect admitted committing the alleged acts and gave explanations. He claimed that alcohol was the cause of his aggressive behavior.
The man had no previous convictions.
The court will now decide his further fate. The alleged offenses carry a prison sentence.
