Everything starts here, in the area around Bolesławiec, with clay extracted from local deposits. For generations, it has formed the basis of the local craft and given Bolesławiec stoneware its characteristic properties. Properly prepared and fired, it becomes hard, durable and resistant to everyday use.
Before the finished vessel reaches your home, it passes through many stages and many human hands. First, the clay is given its shape. Cups, bowls, plates and jugs are created from it; they are carefully finished, smoothed and then dried.

The dried vessels go into the kiln for the first firing, known as the bisque firing. It hardens the raw and fragile form and prepares it for hand decoration.
Only then does the stoneware pass into the hands of the decorators. The characteristic patterns are applied using stamps and brushes. Element by element, color by color, each vessel gains its own character. Small differences are not a defect – they are traces of human hands at work and proof that each piece was made individually.
After decoration, the vessels are glazed and then placed in the kiln again. During the final firing at high temperature, the glaze fuses with the surface, the colors and patterns are fixed, and the stoneware gains its final durability and characteristic shine.
This film shows not only the successive stages of production. It shows people, their concentration, knowledge and pride in their craft. This is how authentic Bolesławiec ceramics are made – created by us from start to finish, so that they can be part of your homes and everyday stories for years to come.
