A reader reports a disturbing situation that occurred on Thursday (June 25) on Jana Pawła II Street in Bolesławiec. According to her account, a woman went from apartment to apartment asking for food. However, the whole situation may have concerned something else. The reader believes that asking for food may have been merely a pretext.

What exactly happened?

On Thursday, a situation that alarmed one of the residents occurred on Jana Pawła II Street in Bolesławiec. She reports that a woman was walking through the stairwells, speaking partly Ukrainian and partly Polish. She knocked from door to door, asking residents for food products. According to her account, the woman said she had come from Ukraine and was fleeing the war.

The reader describes how the unknown woman also tried to persuade her elderly neighbor to help. Seeing the situation, she decided to intervene and informed the stranger that if she did not stop harassing residents, she would call the police. As she claims, the woman immediately left the area.

A moment later, the resident noticed through the window that two vans hurried away from outside the block toward the city. The woman mentioned above was reportedly in one of the vehicles. On this basis, she suspects that this was not an individual in need of help, but one of the people operating as part of a larger group.

The police were notified about the situation

The matter was reported to the police. The reader appeals to residents to remain vigilant, not to open the door to strangers, and to warn seniors about similar situations. As she emphasizes, her elderly neighbor thought that someone from the building was knocking on her door.

For years, the police have reminded the public that people visiting homes under various pretexts may be trying to survey the area and gather information about residents. Therefore, any suspicious situation should be reported to the authorities, and caution should be exercised toward strangers visiting houses and apartments.
