The announcement was made during the anniversary celebration of the Bolesławiec Amazons Club. As Mayor Piotr Roman reported at Wednesday’s session of the Bolesławiec City Council, the hospital director Kamil Barczyk was also present at the celebrations. He spoke about the facility’s activities related to cancer prevention and its further development plans.

The information concerning oncology treatment attracted the greatest interest, however. “The most important information that can already be shared today is that chemotherapy is planned to be launched in Bolesławiec,” the mayor said during the session.

For many patients, this could mean a real change in their everyday lives. Currently, people requiring oncology treatment often have to use facilities outside their place of residence, which involves arranging transport, additional costs and a significant physical burden.

The mayor himself also referred to this issue, pointing out that people who have experienced cancer themselves or through a loved one understand well how demanding the treatment and the accompanying travel can be.

We will certainly return to this topic.
