Hydrological warning no. 35 is in effect from 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5. The probability of the phenomenon occurring was estimated at 65 percent.

According to hydrological forecasts, heavy rainfall may cause water levels to rise into the high-water zone. The situation may develop particularly dynamically on small watercourses, where the response to rainfall is usually very rapid.

The warning covers, among others, the catchment areas of the Witka, Nysa Łużycka, Bóbr, Kwisa, Izera, Ostrożnica and Strzegomka rivers. Hydrologists point out that particularly heavy rainfall may result in localized exceedances of warning levels.

Particular attention should be paid to the area around Świebodzice, where the Pełcznica poses a threat, as well as Mirsk, where the Czarny Potok and Kwisa rivers may rise rapidly. Elevated risk also applies to Ostróżno on the Witka River.

Experts emphasize that although a first-degree warning has been issued, the situation may change dynamically as rainfall areas develop. Residents living near rivers and streams should regularly follow meteorological and hydrological announcements and exercise caution when traveling in areas at risk of flooding.

Services are monitoring water levels in the region. If rainfall intensifies and river levels rise rapidly, further announcements may be issued and warnings updated for the areas of Lower Silesia at greatest risk.
