On the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, or Corpus Christi, the faithful from the Christ the King Parish in Bolesławiec attended Holy Mass, after which the traditional Eucharistic procession set out. The route led along sections of Jana Pawła II, Staroszkolna, Gałczyńskiego and Wańkowicza streets. This procession route had been announced earlier by the parish.
The procession was relatively short and proceeded along streets in the immediate vicinity of the church. As every year, there were altar servers, children scattering flowers, and parishioners carrying banners and the canopy.
Older people predominated among the participants. Attendance, estimated at around 380 people, appeared to be slightly lower than during similar celebrations held in previous years.
Corpus Christi is one of the most important holidays in the Catholic Church. Across Poland, Eucharistic processions take place on this day, leaving the church grounds and proceeding through the streets of cities and towns.
Below, we publish a video and photo gallery from the procession organized by the Christ the King Parish in Bolesławiec.
