Rev. Brunon Józef Borowski has died. Former vicar in Bolesławiec was 93

The Rev. Brunon Józef Borowski, a former vicar in Bolesławiec, longtime parish priest in Zawonia and Czeszów, and a pastor who worked for many years in Austria, has died. The priest was born in 1932 in Rumia and was ordained in Wrocław in 1957. The funeral services will take place at the end of May—first in Czeszów and then in his home parish in Rumia.

The Diocese of Legnica has announced the death of Rev. Brunon Józef Borowski. He was 93 years old. He was born on 17 December 1932 in Rumia (Archdiocese of Gdańsk) and was ordained a priest on 23 June 1957 in Wrocław.

From 1957 to 1961, he worked as a vicar in Bolesławiec (the Parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Nicholas). He then served as parish priest at the Parish of St. Jadwiga in Zawonia (1961–1984) and at the Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Czeszów (1984–1989). He also carried out pastoral work in Austria (1989–1999).

The memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, 28 May 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Czeszów. The funeral Mass will take place on 29 May 2026 at the Parish of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Rumia. It will begin at 12:00.
