The Jelenia Góra prosecutor’s office is conducting an investigation into a case involving a 52-year-old resident of Kowary suspected of murdering his 77-year-old mother. The woman’s body was found on 11 May, at around 12:40 p.m., in one of the apartments in Kowary.
Investigators examined the scene, securing traces and evidence. Among other things, the victim’s body was secured. – A forensic pathologist determined that the cause of the woman’s death was strangulation – reports Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska, press spokesperson for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra.
The victim’s 52-year-old son, who lived with his mother, was charged with “causing the victim’s death by strangling her and hitting her head.”
He faces up to life imprisonment for the crime.
The suspect confessed to committing the alleged offense and gave an explanation. At the prosecutor’s request, the court remanded the 52-year-old in custody for three months.

The suspect had previously been convicted in 2018 of abusing the victim. At that time, he was sentenced to one year and six months in prison.
