A few minutes after the start of the first half, Węgłowski was fouled in the visitors’ penalty area. Rissmann confidently converted the penalty, giving BKS a one-goal lead. In the 11th minute, Ciliński had a chance to increase the lead, but his shot sailed over the Karkonosze goal crossbar. The following minutes saw good, fast-paced play from both teams. The fans could not complain about a lack of excitement. The players traded attacks, creating danger in front of both goals. Ciliński, Pietkiewicz, Rissmann and Węgłowski had chances to score for BKS. Nejman was accurate with his shots for the visitors. Zając performed well in the BKS goal, replacing the injured Przykłota in this match. The score did not change before the end of the first half.
The second half was played at a decidedly slower pace by the Bolesławiec side. The battle took place mainly in midfield. BKS attacked less frequently, focusing on defending its advantage. The visitors, meanwhile, persistently sought an equalizer. In the 69th minute, following one of Karkonosze’s attacks, the equalizing goal was scored. Nejman shot at Zając’s goal. The ball also deflected off one of the players and deceived our goalkeeper. From that moment, BKS played nervously. A few minutes later, the post saved us from conceding a second goal. Karkonosze had the territorial advantage until the end of the match, but the visiting players were unable to score again. The match ended in a 1:1 draw.
Saturday’s match attracted a large group of fans. Around 40 supporters of Karkonosze Jelenia Góra also came. Initially, supporters of both teams cheered their players in a relatively civilized manner, but as time passed, vulgar chants and insults were heard increasingly often. An unpleasant incident occurred toward the end of the match. Some BKS supporters attacked the visiting fans. Several boards and stones were thrown toward the visitors’ section. There were also attempts to force through the barriers separating the supporters of the two teams. Fortunately, the police and security personnel managed to persuade the Karkonosze supporters to leave the stadium. This restored order. The bus carrying the Jelenia Góra supporters left Bolesławiec under police escort.
