Do sanitary authorities received a report concerning a potentially dangerous cosmetic product intended for children. The case concerns wet wipes that may have been placed on sale with microbiological standards exceeded.
The manufacturer – Toruńskie Zakłady Materiałów Opatrunkowych S.A. – decided to voluntarily withdraw the product from the market after analyses conducted in its own laboratory.
Which products are being recalled?
The recall concerns one specific product:
- Name: Bella Happy Aqua Care baby wipes
- Brand: TZMO / Bella Baby Happy
- Batch numbers: 0428 M394441 and 0428 M394442
- Production date: 27–28 October 2025
- Expiry date: April 2028.
Bacteria and fungi detected
Tests showed that the permissible limits for the number of microorganisms had been exceeded. These included:
- mesophilic aerobic bacteria
- moulds and yeasts
- Candida albicans.
The analysis was conducted in accordance with PN-EN ISO 17516, concerning the microbiological purity of cosmetics.
Is the product dangerous?
According to the notice, the product may pose a health risk to users. Those particularly at risk include:
- infants
- people with sensitive skin
- people with damaged skin.
What action has been taken?
The manufacturer implemented a procedure to:
- suspend sales
- withdraw products from customers
Meanwhile, the authorities of the Państwowa Inspekcja Sanitarna are monitoring the situation on the market.

The sanitary inspection recommends:
- carefully checking products in their possession
- immediately stopping use of the indicated batches
If the product is at home, it should not be used – especially on children.

Cosmetics for children are subject to particularly strict safety standards. Even minor exceedances may pose a real risk, because infants’ skin is much more susceptible to irritation and infections.
