In Bolesławiec, preparatory work is under way that is intended to change how the municipal marketplace on Jeleniogórska Street operates in the coming years. The marketplace, known as Manhattan, is to become more welcoming to customers and traders.
New market hall in Bolesławiec – preparations
According to information from the Bolesławiec City Office concerning the investment, the design of the new Manhattan is planned to be prepared later this year: a large, covered hall
The hall is to be located on the marketplace grounds in a carefully considered way, so as not to interfere with the existing infrastructure or disrupt the ongoing operation of the commercial pavilions. The new hall will be built in the part of the marketplace where itinerant trading currently takes place.
Investor and project operator: Miejski Zakład Gospodarki Komunalnej
Miejski Zakład Gospodarki Komunalnej, which manages the marketplace, is responsible for carrying out the investment. For years, the unit has been conducting activities aimed at developing and improving the quality of the city’s commercial spaces.
It is worth adding that another investment related to healthcare is also planned on the marketplace grounds. The project is titled “Construction of a multifunctional building – a facility serving protective functions with a medical and technological section (MDS), an underground garage and a link connecting the building with the main complex of Szpital św. Łukasza in Bolesławiec.” Gmina Miejska Bolesławiec has already signed an agreement with Zespół Opieki Zdrowotnej to make approximately 0.82 hectares of land available for design purposes.
Hospital shelter and marketplace in one
As part of the cooperation, the hospital is to begin preparing the documentation, including plans for the construction of an S-O class shelter. The planned facility is to have three levels: one underground and two above ground, with a total usable area of 3,853.91 m². The functional division of the investment includes, among other things, a garage that can be adapted into a hospital ward, as well as rooms and spaces associated with specialist outpatient care.
Connections to Leśna and Jeleniogórska Streets
The entire complex is to have appropriate transport connections. Access to the facilities is to be provided by a new road from Leśna Street. In addition, a special transport solution is planned: a link running through or beneath Jeleniogórska Street, which is intended to connect the planned facility with the main hospital complex.
