The event took place on Saturday evening, March 28. The announced journey of the historic “Rübezahl” steam locomotive (Polish: Liczyrzepa) through Zebrzydowa attracted crowds.
As reported by zebrzydowa.info, the train was due to appear at 7:45 p.m. However, a huge delay of as much as 90 minutes had already been announced. Website:
(…) this information did not discourage those waiting. On the contrary—many railway enthusiasts and entire families decided to patiently wait for the historic train to arrive.
Liczyrzepa appeared only after 10 p.m. However, as zebrzydowa.info reports:
Despite the late hour and noticeable chill, attendance was still impressive. Dozens of people gathered at the railway crossing and in its vicinity, enthusiastically welcoming the steam locomotive as it lit up the night with its headlamp and characteristic cloud of steam.
The sight and sound of the working steam engine created a unique atmosphere that will remain in the participants’ memories for a long time. For many, it was a special opportunity to see a piece of railway history live.
