Officers of the Customs and Tax Service from the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office in Wrocław (DUCS), during inspection activities on the S3 expressway near Lubin, stopped a truck belonging to a Slovak transport company. – The reason for the stop was failure to pay the toll for travelling on a toll section of the route – explains Agnieszka Rzeźnicka-Gniadek, spokesperson for the Lower Silesian KAS.

She adds: – The vehicle was not registered in the e-TOLL electronic system.

During the inspection, the officers established that this was not an isolated case. The spokesperson said: – Over the past nine months, the driver violated the obligation to pay the electronic toll 59 times while travelling on toll roads in a delivery vehicle.

The result? Due to the numerous violations, the carrier paid over PLN 88,000 toward a future administrative fine.

The Lower Silesian KAS reminds drivers:

Every owner, user or holder of a motor vehicle or vehicle combination with a permissible total weight exceeding 3.5 tonnes, as well as every bus regardless of its permissible total weight, using toll sections of roads in Poland managed by the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA), is required to pay tolls through the e-TOLL system.

She adds:

Travelling on a toll section of road without paying the fee may result in an administrative fine of PLN 1,500.
