Officers of the Customs and Tax Service were conducting inspections on a provincial road in the town of Godzieszów. – They selected a delivery van travelling in the direction of Lubań for inspection – informs Agnieszka Rzeźnicka-Gniadek, spokesperson for the Lower Silesian National Revenue Administration.
She adds: – During an inspection of the cargo area, SCS officers selected parcels for inspection. After opening them, they found that they contained e-cigarettes without Polish excise stamps and without markings in Polish.
More than 13,500 illegal products in a delivery van
Following the discovery of the illegal goods, SCS officers directed the vehicle for further inspection and carried out a detailed examination of the parcels.
The result? The spokesperson says:
- As a result, 33 courier parcels containing excise goods without Polish excise stamps were discovered, including:
- more than 13,000 containers of e-cigarette liquids with a total volume of more than 70 litres,
- 400 complete reusable e-cigarette devices,
- 150 e-cigarette mouthpieces with heaters.
The value of the seized goods exceeded PLN 247,000, while their introduction into circulation would have exposed the State Treasury to a loss of more than PLN 236,000 in excise tax.
Further activities at a warehouse in Lubań
As part of further activities, SCS officers, together with officers from the Criminal Division of the District Police Headquarters in Lubań, searched the warehouse premises of the parcel recipient.
During the operation, wholesale quantities of novel nicotine products without Polish excise stamps were discovered, including:
- more than 27,000 e-cigarette liquid products with a total volume of 431.6 litres,
- more than 2,500 complete e-cigarette devices,
- 450 packages of hookah tobacco with a total weight of 11.25 kg,
- 25 packages of alcohol with a total volume of approximately 5.7 litres,
- more than 3,100 packages of nicotine pouches with a total weight of 42.61 kg,
- 9.6 kg of products made from cannabis herb and resin.
Additionally, during the search, the services discovered 401.3 g of marijuana herb (273 joints). The goods were secured by officers of the Lubań Police unit, who are carrying out further activities in the case.
The total value of the discovered goods exceeds PLN 1.4 million.
