The Biedronka building in Polkowice collapsed as a result of the fire. More fire engines are constantly arriving at the scene, and the situation is dramatic. The Biedronka building burned down completely. Firefighters arrived two minutes after the report, but after 10 minutes—as the spokesperson for the fire service in Polkowice told interia.pl—the roof collapsed.
Two firefighters were injured after slipping in front of the burning store.
– Unfortunately, because of the low temperature, the water we are pouring onto the building freezes – explained Junior Captain Adrian Ziemiański.
Polkowice is experiencing interruptions in the water supply due to the firefighting operation. PGM Polkowice announced this in a special statement on Facebook: "Because large amounts of water are being drawn to put out the fire, throughout the city of Polkowice there may be an interruption in the water supply or very low water pressure."
