During the November session of the Bolesławiec County Council, the state district sanitary inspector in Bolesławiec Urszula Felczyńska presented information on the state of sanitary safety in Bolesławiec County in 2024. As she emphasized, there are increasingly more cases of rabies exposure in our county:
In 2024, 125 cases of people being bitten by animals were registered, more than in the previous period.
How many people were bitten? And by which animals?
- 95 people – by dogs;
- 24 – by cats;
- 1 person – by a raccoon, horse or fox;
- 3 – by brown rats.
Moreover, by doctors’ decision, 27 people (6 more than in 2023) bitten by unknown animals were qualified for rabies vaccinations.
