In the 26th round of the Lower Silesian fourth division, BKS Bobrzanie faced Piast Zawidów away from home. The match began with Piast on the attack. Already in the 1st minute, Grabowski found himself one-on-one with Łokaj. The Zawidów player was so surprised by the opportunity that he shot wide of the right post of our goal. Piast had another chance in the 5th minute. Łokaj saved a close-range shot in fine style. In response, in the 8th minute, Klimas shot just over the hosts’ goal. A moment later, the hosts’ player Maciek Machowski narrowly missed. After an attack down the right, Machowski shot into the side netting of our goal. BKS responded with a counterattack and an inaccurate shot by Ariel Sworacki. In the 19th minute, BKS should have taken the lead. After Serkies’ shot from 10 metres, the ball hit the post, and Piast’s defenders managed to clear it for a corner. From that moment on, BKS had the upper hand. In the 20th minute, Filipiak’s shot failed to surprise the Zawidów goalkeeper. A minute later, Jakub Wołyński played the ball into Piast’s penalty area. Unfortunately, the hosts’ goalkeeper saved Filipiak’s header. In the 25th minute, Ariel Sworacki shot from a sharp angle. Gilewski instinctively saved the effort. The ball went out for a corner. In the 28th minute, following Jacek Bochnia’s attack down the right, Ariel Sworacki’s shot was blocked by the defenders. In the 32nd minute, Jacek Bochnia decided to make an individual run. Unfortunately, his lob flew over the goalkeeper and the visitors’ goal.

The second half was played at a much slower pace. The players felt the effects of the heat. Piast’s players created their first dangerous attack in the 58th minute. Following the hosts’ shot, the ball went past the post of our goal. In the 75th minute, Łokaj fouled the Zawidów striker in the penalty area. The referee showed our goalkeeper a yellow card and awarded Piast a penalty. Łoki brilliantly saved the Piast player’s shot. Piast were not discouraged by the missed penalty and continued attacking our goal. In the 79th minute, Łokaj once again demonstrated his ability. The BKS goalkeeper tipped the Piast striker’s powerful shot over the crossbar with his fingertips. The closing stages of the match were controlled by BKS.

A controversial incident occurred in stoppage time. After one of our players’ shots, the ball struck a host defender’s hand and went over the goal line. Unfortunately, despite our players’ protests, the referee did not notice the Zawidów defender’s handball and awarded BKS a corner kick. After the corner was taken, Szymański headed the ball. The crossbar saved Piast from conceding. We were missing a bit of luck. One point is welcome, but once again we came very close to winning. After 26 rounds, BKS are 11th in the league table and are still fighting to remain in the fourth division. On Saturday (28 May), our team will host Piast Żmigród. The match begins at 17:00.
