On October 26 at approximately 5:55 a.m., a dangerous accident occurred at the intersection of 1 Maja and Drzymały streets in Jelenia Góra. The 18-year-old driver of an Opel passenger car, who was sober, failed to adjust her speed to the road conditions. As a result of skidding, she lost control of the vehicle and fell from the viaduct.
Fortunately, no train was passing beneath the structure at the time of the incident, and the driver was traveling alone. The woman was not injured.
Police are appealing for caution. Autumn weather promotes dangerous situations on the roads—wet surfaces, reduced visibility and low temperatures increase the risk of skidding.
The services remind drivers:
- adjust your speed to the weather conditions,
- keep a greater distance,
- stay focused and rested behind the wheel.
A few seconds of careful consideration can prevent a dangerous incident. Let us remember about the safety of ourselves and other road users.
