A fatal accident was reported by eluban.pl. Today at 5:20 a.m., on the road between Pisarzowice and Henryków Lubański (Lubań County), a Skoda passenger car collided with a truck.
Initial information indicates that the Skoda driver crossed into the opposite lane on a bend in the road, directly into the path of an oncoming tractor-trailer. The truck driver moved into the left lane in an attempt to avoid the collision. Unfortunately, despite this, the vehicles collided.
A family of four—residents of Lubań County—was traveling in the passenger car. As reported by the Lubań portal, they were returning from vacation:
The car was carrying a 35-year-old woman, a 35-year-old man and two children aged 2 and 4. When firefighters arrived at the scene, the two adults were trapped in the wreckage.
The children were already outside the car because witnesses to the incident, who were the first to provide assistance, had pulled them out.
Using hydraulic equipment, firefighters gained access to the trapped people. Resuscitation of the woman was carried out for nearly an hour. Unfortunately, despite the rescuers’ efforts, a doctor pronounced her dead.
The other people traveling in the Skoda were taken to hospitals. The truck driver, also a resident of Lubań County, was uninjured.
Four emergency medical teams took part in the rescue operation, including an LPR helicopter, as well as firefighters from Lubań, Pisarzowice and Henryków and two police patrols. Police are determining the causes of the fatal accident.
The road at the scene of the tragic incident was blocked for several hours.
