According to the police's preliminary findings, the 38-year-old Legnica resident driving an Opel failed to adjust his speed to the road conditions. On a bend, he left the road and hit a tree.
Unfortunately, despite resuscitation efforts carried out at the scene, the 38-year-old man could not be saved. The man was also not wearing a seat belt.
The 23-year-old passenger was not injured. He was wearing a seat belt.
We appeal to all drivers:
- rain, slippery surfaces and limited visibility require particular caution,
- excessive speed is one of the main causes of the most tragic incidents on the roads,
- always wear your seat belt – it really does save lives,
- slow down, keep a safe distance from other vehicles and adjust your speed to the weather conditions.
Remember – being a few minutes late or the inconvenience of wearing a seat belt is nothing compared with the value of human life. Safety must always be more important than haste.
