In recent weeks, Marta underwent two procedures to treat aneurysms, and shortly afterwards suffered an extensive brain haemorrhage. Doctors gave her little chance of survival. Thanks to specialist care, she was transferred to a hospital in Wrocław, where life-saving measures were undertaken. She is now beginning to speak, but suffers from paralysis on the left side of her body. Rehabilitation will be very long and costly. Although the outlook is difficult, there is hope that she will regain her independence.

A fundraiser has been launched on the Zrzutka.pl portal to help finance her further rehabilitation. You can help via this link: zrzutka.pl/u5af3c

Marta Małoszyc comes from Krzepice near Częstochowa and has been closely associated with Bolesławiec for more than two decades – she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, Faculty of Ceramics and Glass, in 2003, and has worked at Zakłady Ceramiczne „Bolesławiec” almost since the beginning of her career. For several years, she has served there as chief designer.

The artist is involved not only in designing functional forms but also in artistic ceramics – her works have been presented both in Poland and abroad. It is thanks to people like Marta that Bolesławiec ceramics is gaining recognition as a serious form of applied art, combining the tradition of stamped painting with modern design.
