Jelenia Góra police on the case:
Officers from the Criminal Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra detained a 44-year-old resident of Karkonosze County suspected, among other things, of possessing significant quantities of narcotic drugs, psychological and physical abuse, and burglary.
During their activities, officers received information that the man might not only be using violence against his partner but also storing drugs at home. Criminal investigators searched his place of residence. During the operation, significant quantities of narcotic drugs—amphetamine and methamphetamine—were secured, from which approximately 2,200 retail doses could have been prepared. In addition, nearly 700 grams of an unidentified substance were found, which the man had attempted to burn in a furnace.
Police also established that from November 2024 to July 2025, the 44-year-old abused his partner both psychologically and physically. He threatened to kill her and also robbed her. His haul included a laptop, phone, watch and bank card, which he used. The total value of the stolen property exceeded PLN 23,000.
In this case, officers from the Criminal Department, working with investigators from the Investigative Department, gathered extensive evidence. On its basis, charges were brought against the 44-year-old, which he heard at the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra. The man acted under so-called recidivism, which may result in a more severe sentence.
The District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra initiated an investigation against a 44-year-old man suspected of possessing drugs contrary to the provisions of the law, abusing his partner and repeatedly raping her, as well as stealing money from her bank account. – Preliminary findings indicate that between November 2024 and July 17, 2025, in one of the localities in Karkonosze County, the perpetrator physically and psychologically abused his partner. The man called her names using words commonly considered offensive. He threatened to beat and kill her – says Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska, press spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra. – He also placed a GPS transmitter under the woman’s car in order to track her.
She adds: – Moreover, he beat and pushed the victim and, between March and July 2025, raped her repeatedly.
On July 14, 2025, he took the victim’s payment card and, bypassing electronic security measures, stole PLN 20,850 from her personal account.
Furthermore, during a search of the residential premises occupied by the suspect, 187 grams of marijuana and approximately 35 grams of methamphetamine were found and secured.
The perpetrator was detained. After being brought by officers of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra to the local District Prosecutor’s Office, he was charged with physically and psychologically abusing the victim, repeatedly raping her, stealing money from the victim’s bank account, and possessing narcotic drugs and a psychotropic substance contrary to the provisions of the law. (He committed the latter offense under recidivism.)
The 44-year-old could face up to 15 years in prison.
The suspect did not admit to committing the alleged offenses. He refused to provide explanations.
At the request of the District Prosecutor in Jelenia Góra, the court remanded the suspect in custody for three months.
