Of the 20 votes cast, 9 (45%) went to Karol Nawrocki, the candidate supported by PiS. Rafał Trzaskowski received 6 votes (30%), Magdalena Biejat 2 (10%), while Artur Bartoszewicz, Szymon Hołownia and Marek Woch received one vote each.
These results are particularly interesting in the context of the controversy surrounding the apartment in Gdańsk that Karol Nawrocki purchased from an older man, Mr Jerzy. The matter sparked public debate and was widely discussed in the media. Despite this, Nawrocki also received the most support at the Social Welfare Home where Mr Jerzy currently resides, securing 17 votes—one more than Trzaskowski.
According to an Opinia24 poll for RMF FM, more than half of Poles believe that the apartment matter will not affect their decision in the second round of the election. However, 27% of respondents say that the issue will influence how they vote. The youngest voters and people with higher education are the most sensitive to this information.
The results from the Bolesławiec Social Welfare Home show that, despite the controversy, Karol Nawrocki enjoys considerable support among seniors. This may be significant in the upcoming second round of the presidential election.
