Despite the firefighters’ swift intervention, for which we are grateful, the losses are enormous.
The fire destroyed part of the basement, where the fuel (wood and coal) needed for the winter was stored, as well as the central heating system, and damaged the furnace.
As a result of extinguishing the fire, the entire basement area was flooded.
And she adds:
Despite their low pensions, my parents try to make ends meet. I often support them by contributing to the purchase of medicines, as they lack the funds.
Andrzej (my mother’s fiancé, a very close person to me) underwent hip surgery—implants were placed in both his hips and knees so that he could walk normally again, whereas previously he moved around on crutches. At the scene of the fire, while trying to extinguish the flames, Andrzej suffered burns—he burned his ear and part of his face.
Marianna (my mother) struggles with a congenital heart defect that is unfortunately difficult to operate on, and additionally suffers from symptoms of an anxiety disorder. During the fire, my mother had a severe panic attack, and her most important concern was to get the dog out :( . She is a very emotional person, which only intensifies the hardship she is experiencing as a result of this dramatic incident.
And concludes: – My family, the doctors, my loved ones and I are doing everything we can to help them.
