Residents of Lower Silesia who suffered as a result of the September flood can still submit an application by 15 March for a benefit to rebuild a residential or farm building. The support may amount to up to PLN 200,000 for rebuilding a house and up to PLN 100,000 for renovating a farm building. So far, more than PLN 500 million has reached those affected, and 99% of applications have been approved.

The funds are intended for people whose buildings were damaged or destroyed as a result of the disaster. In Lower Silesian Voivodeship, nearly 25,000 families have already received such benefits. The amount of support depends on the extent of the damage and is awarded by the head of the social welfare centre after the losses have been assessed by a municipal commission. The funds received may be used to renovate a building, purchase equipment necessary for its operation, and rebuild technical infrastructure. Documenting the expenses incurred is a condition for receiving support.

Lower Silesian Voivode Anna Żabska encourages residents who have not yet submitted an application to take advantage of this opportunity as soon as possible:

Almost all those affected who were paid advances received the support due to them in full. Thanks to this assistance, many families have already been able to start rebuilding their homes. I appeal and encourage anyone who has not yet submitted an application to take advantage of this support. The funds are available, and the deadline is 15 March.

Office:

We remind you that benefits may be used exclusively to rebuild and renovate residential and farm buildings used to meet the family’s needs. The funds may not be used to rebuild holiday homes, arbors, gates or fences, or for other expenses not directly related to residence.

How do you submit an application?

To submit an application, contact your local Social Welfare Centre. It is worth remembering that assistance is provided regardless of income or insurance coverage. Documentation concerning the damage and costs incurred should be collected on an ongoing basis to facilitate the process of settling the benefit.

More information can be obtained from local Social Welfare Centres.
