Mateusz Celmer, a 23-year-old from Bolesławiec, has taken the helm of the Student Government of Wrocław University of Science and Technology (also known as the Student Parliament). The government has a broad range of responsibilities. It safeguards students’ rights, draws up study regulations, represents students both before the university authorities and nationally, and organizes various student events, such as Juwenalia.
“We promote a healthy lifestyle. We organize charity campaigns, first-aid training and summer camps. We also distribute tickets, including tickets to the Philharmonic,” Mateusz lists. “All this is intended to develop students’ existing interests at Wrocław University of Science and Technology and inspire new ones.”
Plans for the future
“We support students, and will continue to support them, in finding internships and help them develop professionally,” announces the new head of the PWr Student Parliament. “I received a scholarship in the United States and took part in training sessions and workshops in Florida. There I realized how important initiatives of this kind are.”
