On Friday (21 January), the General Reporting and Electoral Meeting of BKS Bobrzanie was held in the conference room of the district office. Around 40 people took part in the meeting: members of the club’s board, supporters, BKS footballers, Deputy Mayor Kornel Filipowicz, Deputy District Governor Stanisław Chwojnicki and PO councillors from the city council.
At Friday’s meeting, reports on the club’s activities were adopted. The financial report was presented by Jan Woch. One of its more interesting points concerned the president’s remuneration. It turns out that the president of the BKS board “earned” PLN 0. The positions held by the other board members were similarly “profitable”.
The discussion was an interesting part of the meeting. Topics included ways of obtaining sponsors, ticket prices and the often problematic cooperation with MOSiR (the use of the stadium and other facilities). Deputy Mayor Kornel Filipowicz promised to speak with the MOSiR director about access to sports facilities. He also declared that the city’s cooperation with BKS would continue.
The proposal to introduce charges for using the pitch caused controversy. Ariel Sworacki, a BKS footballer present at the meeting, pointed out to Kornel Filipowicz that the idea of a new charge had little to do with supporting sport. The deputy mayor replied that the new charge would be symbolic and that the city helped the club in various ways, for example by not charging it for utilities.
PO councillor Mirosław Sakowski also spoke in the discussion. The councillor suggested that the issue of possible assistance for the club should have been discussed by committees when the city budget was being set. He also added that no one had approached him asking for help.
When the discussion ended, Jacek Szymczak announced a short break. After the proceedings resumed and before the meeting’s most important item—the election of a new board—some people were no longer in the room, including several councillors and the deputy mayor.
No new board was appointed during Friday’s meeting. The existing board members did not agree to stand for election again, although their candidacies were put forward by BKS members present at the meeting. There was also a lack of people willing to work for the club. In this situation, another attempt to elect a new board will take place in early February. If a new BKS board is not elected, the club may cease to exist.
Czy BKS powinien dalej istnieć?
