Benefits of combining a bathroom with a toilet
The main advantage of integrating a toilet and bathroom is gaining more usable space, which in turn makes everyday use of these important rooms more convenient. Removing partition walls not only makes it easier to move around, but also allows the interior to be arranged more effectively. What is more, it is much easier to keep one room clean than two.
Challenges to overcome
Although combining a bathroom and toilet is a fairly popular solution in Poland, it involves certain technical challenges. The biggest problem may be modifying the plumbing and sewage systems, so it is best to seek professional assistance in this area.
Before starting the renovation, every step should be carefully planned. The basic task is to measure the space that will be available after the changes. This will make it possible to determine whether the layout of the room will allow all the necessary elements to be installed comfortably, such as:
- bathtub;
- towel rack;
- conglomerate washbasin;
- toilet;
- bidet, etc.
After combining the rooms, the minimum area should be approximately 5–6 m²; otherwise, it is unlikely to be comfortable.
Project implementation stages
Every renovation, even the smallest one, should be divided into several stages, which will make it easier to manage time and costs. At the very beginning, you should therefore focus on planning, followed by:
- Prepare an initial plan for arranging the bathroom fixtures.
- Seek advice from specialists regarding plumbing, sewage and electrical installations.
- Remove unnecessary partition walls, protect the installations and purchase the necessary building materials.
- Begin the actual renovation—plumbing alterations, sanitary installation, and finishing the walls and floors.
- Install the fittings and decorative elements.
Costs of combining a bathroom with a toilet
The renovation cost will depend on many factors, including the materials selected (remember that although conglomerate is more expensive, it is also much more durable and aesthetically pleasing than plastic), the scope of the work and the region where you live. The average cost of the changes should be between PLN 6,000 and 12,000.
