We have received reports about the conduct of Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman during the opening of the Ceramic Festival.

It turns out that he was bothered not only by the rainbow banner bearing the slogan “We are all made of the same clay.” The mayor also did not read out the letter from the Lower Silesian Voivode, who thanked the organizers for cultivating the ceramic tradition.

Voivode Maciej Awiżeń wrote online:

Ladies and Gentlemen, since the Mayor of Bolesławiec did not allow the Voivode’s plenipotentiary for cooperation with local government units, Mateusz Jędrachowicz, to read the letter from the Lower Silesian Voivode addressed to participants in Bolesławiec’s Ceramic Festival, I will take the liberty of attaching its text here.

“During this year’s opening ceremony, at the organizer’s request, no speeches by invited guests were planned due to the short time remaining before the concert began (a technical break of at least one hour is required to prepare a performance at a mass event) and because of the high temperature. All guests were informed of this and accepted it with understanding,” says Agnieszka Gergont, the city hall’s press spokesperson.
