As in previous years, every day throughout the holiday season, the website policja.pl, social media and websites administered by Police units present a map of Poland showing the number of fatal road accidents, together with information about each incident (i.e. the location, general information on the number of victims, the type of road user involved and the type of incident) from the past 24 hours and since the beginning of the holiday season.
The ongoing updating of the map, including its visual presentation, is intended to draw attention to the scale of the tragedies occurring on Polish roads, encourage road users to reflect, and prompt the media to discuss road safety.
Since the beginning of the holiday season, there have been 213 fatal accidents on roads throughout Poland, including 7 such accidents in the past 24 hours.
In Lower Silesian Voivodeship, there have been 17 fatal accidents since the beginning of the holiday season, including one in Bolesławiec County.
It should be remembered that behind every point marked on this map lies a human tragedy. Any seemingly minor disregard for the regulations, recklessness, or ignoring drowsiness or fatigue can cause a tragedy on the road.
Once again, Screen Network S.A. has joined efforts to promote road safety. On more than 20,000 screens located in 553 cities, including at major transport routes, railway stations, petrol stations and shopping centres, the company will display a map with current data.
