I would like to ask you for help in explaining the strange case of a section of pavement disappearing along Staroszkolna Street. Since the beginning of this year, a new store has been under construction in the area of Chrobrego Street and Staroszkolna Street. For many years, there was a pavement along the western wall of the “old” store. Now, following the redevelopment and new arrangement of the store’s grounds, the pavement in this section has disappeared.
And added: – The pavement currently ends abruptly at the entrance from Staroszkolna Street to the grounds (and new car park) of the store under construction. Pedestrians walking along the pavement on Staroszkolna Street, from Jana Pawła II Street towards Chrobrego Street, suddenly find themselves facing nothing: THE PAVEMENT, OR RATHER THE NEW PEDESTRIAN AND CYCLING PATH, HAS NO CONTINUATION!!!!
And suggested: “Please ask the administrator and owner of the road corridor why no one has so far ensured the proper organization of pedestrian traffic along this section. On this section of the road plot there is an “old” car park (along Staroszkolna Street), which could be converted for use as a pavement (because a new car park is being built by the store).”
And added:
It seems that the city lacks an institution coordinating all construction plans, including, among other things, underground utilities and the development of areas intended to serve residents. I can already see everyone saying that each party carried out its work in accordance with the regulations. So what, if the result of such actions is NO PAVEMENT!!!
We asked Paweł Bednarski, head of the District Roads Authority, about the matter. He stressed that the pavement mentioned by the reader was located on a plot owned by the owner of Stokrotka and that the matter did not fall under the responsibility of Bolesławiec County.
What is more, we visited the site and it appears that the lack of the aforementioned continuation of the pedestrian and cycling path strictly speaking does not really inconvenience either pedestrians or cyclists.
